Terms and Conditions for D&AD New Gen Awards

Entry Requirements

1. The competition is open to students worldwide between the ages of 11 and 18.

2. Entries must be delivered and received by 00.00 (BST) Thursday 30th March 2023, by uploading 8 slides with a voice over or written script 

3. Only one entry to the competition per pupil (or group of children in the Group category Years 11-14 and Years 15-18) shall be accepted. A child can enter as an individual and as part of a group. Max of 3 people in a group.

4. All pupils must be enrolled in full time education anywhere in the world, on 1 January 2023.

5. New Gen Awards aren’t for work you’ve done already – all entries have to be a response to this year’s brief. The submission needs to be created by the participant and/or the participant’ team.

6. There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter the D&AD New Gen Awards.

7. If entries are submitted by a school, the participating school is responsible for ensuring appropriate permissions have been sought for each child, or another lawful basis under data protection legislation applies, before sharing personal data with D&AD. By entering this competition, entrants are confirming that the required consent has been given by each child’s parent or legal guardian, or that another lawful basis applies.

Competition Period

The Competition will open at 00.00 (BST) on 9th January 2023 and close at 00.00 (BST) on 30th March 2023.

Competition Rules

1. Participants must submit an idea for a solution that addresses the brief. Submission details can be found on the Daydream Believers website - https://daydreambelievers.co.uk/new-gen

2. Submissions will be assessed based on providing evidence of applying five learning outcomes - Researching, Conceptualisation, Failing & Fixing, Communication and Evaluation. The winning entry must demonstrate that the idea:

A - Answers the brief

B - Is a brave and creative idea

C - Demonstrates evidence of applying five learning outcomes

3. The winners of the competition shall be decided by a panel of judges (consisting of representatives from D&AD and Daydream Believers and other independent representatives). The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

4. Competition winners' names and their winning entries will be displayed on D&AD and Daydream Believers website and other social networking sites. An exception to this can be made in exceptional circumstances on request.

5. Entrants' personal information will never be used for anything other than administering this competition. (Privacy Policy available at https://www.dandad.org/en/d-ad-privacy-statement/).

6. All entrants provide a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, transferable license to the D&AD and allow the use of their entry to record, publish, reproduce, exhibit, transmit, broadcast, televise, digitize, display the entry in any manner, form, or format whatsoever now or hereafter created, including on the Internet, on any form of social media, and in all and any media channels now known or hereafter devised, and for any purpose, including but not limited to advertising or promotion of D&AD and Daydream Believers.

7. Entry to the competition shall only be valid if the entrant has complied with these competition rules.

8. Incomplete, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not in accordance with entry instructions, will not be accepted.

9. D&AD and Daydream Believers are not responsible for late, lost or delayed entries.

10. D&AD and Daydream Believers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
