The objects around us have been created by a designer with someone else’s needs in mind. Some objects can be used by almost everyone; others more specific. Pick a persona from the hat and design them a custom alarm clock.

When you are daydreaming, there are no limits to what you can imagine. With that in mind, think about how you get to school in the morning. What might a totally reimagined journey look like? Get inspired from storyboard examples and sketch out what happens on your journey.

In this lesson, we are going to take a selection of random objects and your task is to connect them in just SIX STEPS. This activity will get you to think thinking laterally and will help you to use your creative abilities to solve a problem.

Positive thinking is great: its effects are well documented and it really helps us get things done. Negativity gets a bad rep. However, used in the right way, a little negative thinking can help us identify problems that our creativity and positive thinking can help us solve.

This lesson will ask students to reimagine a better social media for everyone.

A ‘Scottish Obscurity’ could be defined as a wee piece of merchandise inspired by what Scotland has to offer, such as Oor Landmarks and beautiful surroundings. These Wee Quirks in our areas can help bring a Modern Twist to Gifts and Memories, instead of being your standard tartan and biscuit tin. During this lesson students will be asked to to create merchandise ideas for their chosen landmark.

Creative thinking is everywhere, even in the simplest of tasks. Using the example worksheet, we want you to come up with an idea to move a marble from A-B in the slowest way possible.

People go to Spain for the sun, they go to the Alps for the snow. But not everyone come to Scotland for the weather. In this lesson, students will be asked to use their ideas to coax potential tourists to visit Scotland for its unique climate.

To think creatively you need to look at things from a new perspective – a different angle. When you do, you see new connections and come up with interesting ideas. Students will learn how to use creative thinking to approach tasks and solve problems in a different way.

In this series of lessons, the learners will be introduced to the empathy, understanding what it means to be empathetic, how it differs from sympathy and why is this skill important to us as humans. They will explore how empathy can be used in practice when solving a problem.

This activity will give students a chance to explore the characteristics of different typefaces and how they can be used to reflect different personalities.
